Analytical Model of Formation of the Phase-Contrast Images for Inhomogeneous Noncrystalline Objects with Arbitrary Shape

In this paper, the generalized theoretical model of phase-contrast formation by triple-axis method is developed for inhomogeneous noncrystalline objects with arbitrary shape. This model takes into account self-consistently and analytically the effects of total X-ray multiple scattering on both the periodical or constant (uniform at the average) components of objects’ susceptibility and, for the first time, on the fluctuation ones. The complete multiplicity of scattering is taken into account for both the monochromator and analyser single-crystals and the object under investigation. As shown, the use of both the developed model and the phase-variational principles of formation and interpretation of the phase-contrast images established on basis of it allows to describe analytically the experimentally observed increasing of sensitivity and to provide with the possibility of a solution in principle for the inverse problem and the problem of non-destructive multiparametric diagnostics.
