In this work the magnetic fluids based on Ni$_x$Co$_{1-x}$Fe$_2$O$_4$ with $x$ = 0, 0.3, 0.5, 0.7, 1 are obtained by the chemical co-precipitation method. Crystal structure, morphology, elemental composition of the Ni$_x$Co$_{1-x}$Fe$_2$O$_4$ nanoparticles and magnetic properties of the magnetic fluids are studied by X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscope, energy-dispersive X-ray analysis and vibrating sample magnetometer.

Key words: magnetic fluid, nanoparticle, magnetometer, energy-dispersive X-ray analysis, ferrite.
