The method for modifying of hypereutectic silumins by the melt treatment with unipolar-pulsed electric current with the periodic (cyclic) frequency variation is designed. As a result of such exposure, the development of primary silicon crystals is suppressed during the melt solidification process with a cooling rate of 0.3 K/s. Fragile aluminium alloy with a silicon content of 15—18 wt.% acquires such plastic properties as A0 aluminium.
Key words: morphology of phases, nanostructure, hypereutectic silumin, pulsed electric current.
